viernes, el 30 de marzo

Today we practiced school locations and reviewed snack words. We learned the verb "Ir= to go", see below, and also how to tell time. Ir is explained on page 130 of the textbook, and Telling Time is on page 132. You will probably need these pages, as well as the vocabulary page on page 143.

Ir= to go
Yo voy- I go
tu vas- you go
el/ella/usted va- he/she/you formal goes
nosotros vamos- we go
ellos/ellas/ustedes van- they/you all go

Homework, due our next class, Friday, April 13th due to field trip to SF:
1. Cuaderno packet, pages 43-46. USE THE TEXTBOOK TO HELP YOU.
2. Learn the vocabulary as you go, when you don't know a work, memorize it!! We're ramping up for the end of the year.

Today we practiced our new words, which were Snack words:

el agua- water
la fruta- fruit
la hamburguesa- hamburger
la merienda- snack
las papas fritas- french fries
el refresco- soda
la torta- sandwhich
el vaso de... jugo- a glass of... juice (agua, refresco, jugo de fruta, etc.)

and also some locations around school:
la cafeteria- cafeteria
la biblioteca- library
el auditorio- auditorium
la oficina- office
la piscina- swimming pool
el gymnasio- the gym/gymnasium

Homework due today was to draw the snack foods, a visual dictionary. There is no new homework because we were missing so many students this morning.

Today we went through page 120, Activity 7, and students who were here got it done with help from me.

2. Vocab Quiz Friday, 3/23, all the words on page 121 (MEMORIZE THEM!!)

viernes, el 9 de marzo

Friday we reviewed the homework due today, and reviewed the whole chapter because next week is crazy with field trips, days off etc.

Homework:
1. Pg. 120 Activity 7, write 3/4 page on your classes (doesn't only have to be on your favorite class).

2. Vocab Quiz on Friday, 3/23, all of the words on page 121.

Today we worked on Hay Que and Tener Que, and started "El Estudiante Ideal" poster. Students were to create an ideal student, like the example on page 112. We'll present them in class on Friday. Our workbook packets (Cuaderno) were finished and collected.

Homework: pg. 119, activities 2,3, and 4.

viernes, el 2 de marzo

Today we worked on the homework as we had only a few students in class. We learned about Hay Que and Tener Que together.
p. 113 is the lesson you'll need to do Tener Que and Hay Que.

Homework: p. 113 in the textbook, activity 15, and page 114, activities 16 and 18.

miercoles, el 29 de febrero

Wednesday we took a quiz on verb conjugations and meanings, which most students didn't do very well on. We practiced statements of frequency around the room.

Homework: Cuaderno,pg. 39 and 40, using the book, page 121 (and pg. 113 for the lesson on Hay Que and Tener Que, a new grammar concept.)
