Today we practiced A BUNCH with our "Conversaciones", common questions/conversation. (See them below). We reviewed TPR action verbs and pronouns.

Today we took a pop quiz, mostly for me to see how everyone is doing. We practiced "Te presento a..." for introducing someone (informally)
"Le presento a..." for introducing someone (formally)

We talked about Me/Te/Le gusta, and practiced TPR

Homework:
1. Pg. 44, Activities 1, 2, 3, and 4 Go back in the chapter for help and explanations. (See hints below if you need hints.)
2. Pg. 47, Make a list of the vocabulary words that you don't know, and start to learn them! Memorize!

Today we: went over the homework a bit, to do the outloud parts that I forgot about (pg. 6-7, from the workbook). We practiced TPR, and learned how to express likes and dislikes:

Me gusta = I like
Te gusta= you like
Le gusta= he/she/you formal likes

We briefly practiced pronouns. Lots of people have lots of homework to do.

Homework: 1. P. 39 in the textbook, exercises 16 and 18.
2. Read page 42-43 as well as you can. Check in with yourself to see how much you absolutely understand, how much you think you understand, how much you have no idea about. Answer the questions 1-5 as best you can, in Spanish, or if you have to, in English.

P. 39, Exercise 16:
1. Mario: comer (si) = Le gusta comer.
2. tu: escribir (no) = No te gusta escribir.

P. 40, Exercise 18: For yourself, tell if you like (Me gusta ______) or don't like (No me gusta _______) the activities. (cantar, trabajar, etc.)
1. Me gusta cantar.
2. No me gusta trabajar.

Hoy: Nosotros practicamos nuestro TPR, con dos palabras mas: hablar (to speak) y escuchar (to listen).

We went over the conjugation of the verb Ser= to be, and the pronouns.
Yo soy = I am Yo soy de ...= I am from...
Tu eres = you are Tu eres de ... = You are from...
El es = he is El es de.... = He is from...
Ella es = she is Ella es de... = She is from...
Usted es = you formal are Usted es de...= You (formal) are from...
Nosotros somos= we are Nosotros somos de... = We are from...
Ellos son = they(male) are Ellos son de... = They (masculine) are from...
Ellas son = they(female)are Ellas son de... = They (feminine) are from...
Ustedes son = you all are Ustedes son de... = You (plural) are from...

We practiced the pronouns a bunch! Practice those! Learn those! Go team!

Tarea/Homework:
1. Cuaderno page 5/6 that I handed out.
2. Pronoun visuals- Draw a small visual for each of the pronouns to remind yourself. Yo, tu, el, ella, usted, etc... (nine total).

Today in class we practiced numbers, and learned the following new words:

People:
la mujer- woman
el hombre- man
la chica- girl
el chico- boy
la muchacha- girl
el muchacho- boy

el senor- Mr.
la senora- Mrs.
la senorita- Miss

el amigo- friend (male)
la amiga- friend (female)
la familia- family

Professions:
el/la doctor/a- doctor
el/la estudiante- student
el/la maestro/a- teacher
el/la policia- police person


We worked on the numbers, 1-10, and did a few exercises and pages in the textbook. (pg. 28-33).

We learned some new action words (verbs) as part of TPR (total physical response):
lee (leer= to read)
escribe (escribir= to write)
estudia (estudiar= to study)
trabaja (trabajar= to work)
nada (nadar= to swim)
patina (patinar= to skate)

Old TPR words:
come (comer= to eat)
bebe (beber= to drink)
camina (caminar= to walk)
corre (correr= to run)
salta (saltar= to jump)
baila (bailar= to dance)
canta (cantar= to sing)
da una vuelta = circle around


We also introduced the pronouns in Spanish:
yo = I
tu = you
el = he
ella = she
usted = you (formal, used with someone you are showing respect to with your speech.)
nosotros = we
ellos = they (masculine)
ellas = they (feminine)
ustedes = you all (you plural)

Today we took the countries and capitals quiz.

People who did fabulous (above 8/10) and DON'T need to retake the quiz were: Dasha, Emma, Justin, Prasanna, Chad, Sierra, Maisy, Tyler, Ben, and Madison.

People who aren't listed above should re-study and retake the quiz on Tuesday, 10/5 at 9:15, before class.

We practiced "De donde es_________."

Students assigned themselves Spanish names and practiced introductions:
